What causes body odor

It’s easy to buy deodorants from the market. Although they can help you prevent bad smell, they are not always a good option for every woman. Some of these products can contain chemical ingredients. They can cause allergic reactions or irritate your skin. You may even experience rashes and itching. In order to fight wetness and odor naturally, you can use some home remedies for body odor.

Topical Odor Fighters

It’s perfect to dust your skin with some cornstarch or baking soda. You should wipe your underarms with a clean cotton ball soaked in high quality witch hazel, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. These substances can change your skin’s pH. Therefore, they prevent the growth of odor causing bacteria.

If you’re looking for a herbal solution, you should dab your skin with peppermint, tea tree, lavender or pine oil. These essential oils can effectively kill bacteria naturally, and make sure you smell fresh.

For some women, pure essential oil is quite harsh. You should dilute a few drops of essential oil in some water before the application. You should never apply these oils to your baby or child’s skin before consulting a pediatrician.

Oranges, lemons, and many other citrus fruits are excellent odor fighters. They make sure your body does not release any bad odor through sweat. These fruits can easily flush out any toxins present in your body that might cause the bad smell.

Wheatgrass juice can also help you prevent bad odor. It’s easily available in health food stores. The strong taste may bother some women. Thus, you should start with just two tablespoons of high quality wheatgrass juice and mix it with three-fourth cup of water.

DIY Deodorants

It’s quite obvious that making a deodorant is more affordable than buying it. In addition to this, when you’re making a deodorant on your own, you can control the strength of the scent by simply modifying the recipe. If you have normal skin, you can mix quarter cup of cornstarch with quarter cup baking soda in a small bowl. If you have sensitive skin, you should mix half cup cornstarch with ⅛ cup baking soda. The next step is to mix it in about 10 drops of essential oil. You should add two tablespoons of high quality coconut oil, and blend well.

It’s important to properly spoon the mixture into a small container with a tight lid. In case you have an empty deodorant container, you can fill it with this mixture. Before you start using the DIY deodorant, you should let it firm up for about 24 hours. Apply it to areas, such as armpits, neck and more. When you use this DIY deodorant, you don’t have to worry about any allergies, side effects or other such problems. You will be able to use your DIY deodorant to fight bad odor without experiencing any problems.
